How We Process Your Files

When you use the Application to convert images to PDF:

  • Your selected images are read locally from your device's gallery or camera.
  • The PDF conversion engine runs entirely on your device's processor and memory.
  • The resulting PDF file is saved locally to your device's file system.
  • No image data, file contents, or PDF output is transmitted over the internet at any point.
  • You may share the generated PDF manually through Android/iOS native sharing features, but this sharing is initiated and controlled entirely by you.

What We Do Not Do

For absolute clarity, PDF Save does not engage in any of the following activities:

  • We do not upload your images to any server.
  • We do not process your files on any remote or cloud infrastructure.
  • We do not perform optical character recognition (OCR) on your documents.
  • We do not apply any artificial intelligence or machine learning analysis to your images.
  • We do not perform facial recognition or biometric processing.
  • We do not maintain user accounts, profiles, or authentication systems.
  • We do not collect payment information or process financial transactions.
  • We do not synchronize data to any cloud backup service.
  • We do not upload files in the background.
  • We do not engage in any form of hidden or covert data collection.

3. Offline-First Architecture

PDF Save has been engineered from its foundation as an offline-first application. This architectural philosophy is central to our commitment to user privacy and is not merely a feature but a fundamental design principle.

Key Offline-First Principles

All file processing, image handling, and PDF generation occurs locally on the user's device. An internet connection is not required for any core functionality of the Application.

Technical Implementation

  • Local Image Processing: All image selection, cropping, reordering, and preview operations are performed using on-device libraries and APIs.
  • On-Device PDF Generation: The PDF creation engine utilizes native device processing capabilities. The conversion from image format to PDF occurs entirely within the Application's local process space.
  • Local File Storage: Generated PDF files are saved directly to the user's device storage. We do not provide, operate, or interface with any cloud storage solution.
  • No Network Dependency: The Application's primary functionality does not require an active internet connection. Users can convert images to PDF while completely offline, including in airplane mode.
  • No Server Infrastructure: PDF Save does not operate any application-specific backend servers, APIs, or cloud endpoints that receive or process user files.

Important: While the Application does not require internet access for its core features, certain non-essential services (such as Firebase Analytics for aggregate usage statistics) may transmit limited, anonymized data when a network connection is available. Please refer to Section 4 for further details on analytics.

4. Firebase Analytics

PDF Save currently integrates Firebase Analytics as its sole analytics service. Firebase Analytics is a free app measurement solution provided by Google LLC ("Google") that provides insight into app usage and user engagement.

What Is Firebase Analytics?

Firebase Analytics is an event-based analytics service operated by Google that collects and aggregates anonymous usage data from mobile applications. It enables developers to understand how users interact with their applications, measure feature adoption, and identify potential issues.

What Anonymous Information May Be Collected

When Firebase Analytics is active, the following types of anonymized, aggregated information may be collected:

  • App Interaction Events: Anonymous records of in-app actions, such as initiating a PDF conversion, opening the application, or navigating between screens. These events are reported without any association to user identity.
  • Device Properties: Anonymized device characteristics, including device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and locale settings. Firebase Analytics uses these to segment data without identifying individual users.
  • Anonymous Identifiers: Firebase may assign an anonymous, randomly generated identifier to each app installation instance. This identifier is not linked to any personal identity, account, or persistent device identifier.
  • Crash and Error Reports: Firebase Crashlytics (if enabled) may collect anonymized crash data, including stack traces and device state at the time of a crash, to help us identify and fix bugs.
Important Disclosure

No user images, photographs, or generated PDF files are ever uploaded to Firebase or transmitted through Firebase Analytics. Firebase Analytics data is limited to anonymized usage metrics and does not include any content from your image or PDF files.

Google's Processing of Analytics Data

Firebase Analytics is operated by Google LLC. Google processes analytics data in accordance with its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review the following policies:

Disabling Analytics

You may exercise control over analytics data collection through the following mechanisms:

  • Android: Navigate to Settings → Google → Ads and opt out of interest-based advertising. You may also reset your advertising identifier at any time through device settings. Additionally, you can disable Firebase Analytics data collection for your device through Settings → Apps → PDF Save → Mobile Data & Wi-Fi and restricting background data.
  • iOS: Navigate to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track." You may also reset your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) through Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Device-Level Controls: Both Android and iOS offer device-level privacy settings that allow you to limit tracking and data collection. We encourage you to review and configure these settings according to your preferences.

5. Permissions

PDF Save requests a limited number of device permissions necessary for its core functionality. Each permission is requested only when required and is used exclusively for the purposes described below. We do not use any permission for surveillance, tracking, or data collection beyond what is strictly necessary.

Camera Permission

Purpose: The Camera permission is requested only when the user explicitly chooses to capture a new photograph directly within the Application for the purpose of converting that photograph into a PDF document.

Scope of Use:

  • The camera is activated exclusively through an explicit user action (tapping the "Capture" or "Camera" button).
  • Camera access is never initiated automatically, in the background, or without direct user initiation.
  • Any captured image is processed locally and is not transmitted to any server.
  • Camera permission is not used for video recording, streaming, facial recognition, or any purpose other than capturing a still image for PDF conversion.

If you deny this permission, the Application will continue to function normally for image selection from the device gallery. You may grant or revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.

Notification Permission

Purpose: The Notification permission is requested for the sole purpose of displaying user-facing notifications related to the Application's functionality, such as PDF creation completion status, processing progress, or other relevant operational alerts.

Scope of Use:

  • Notifications are limited to app-functionality-related information only.
  • We do not send promotional, marketing, or third-party notifications.
  • Notification content does not include any personal data, image previews, or file contents.
  • Notifications are never used as a mechanism for tracking or surveillance.

You may disable notifications at any time through your device's notification settings or within the Application's settings.

Transparency Commitment: PDF Save does not request any permissions beyond those listed above. We do not access your contacts, microphone, location services, calendar, phone records, SMS/MMS, device identifiers for tracking purposes, or any other system services not explicitly described in this section.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect any data that may be associated with the Application. Given the offline-first nature of PDF Save, our security approach is fundamentally oriented toward on-device data protection.

On-Device Security Measures

  • Local Processing: Because all image-to-PDF conversion occurs locally on your device, no user files are transmitted over the internet during normal operation. The absence of network transmission inherently eliminates the risks associated with data-in-transit interception, man-in-the-middle attacks, and server-side breaches.
  • Operating System Protections: The Application operates within the security sandbox provided by the Android and iOS operating systems. Files created by the Application are subject to the operating system's native file-level permissions and encryption mechanisms (e.g., Android's full-disk encryption and iOS's Data Protection).
  • No Remote Storage: Since user files are never stored on our servers or any cloud infrastructure, there is no risk of server-side data breaches affecting your personal files.
  • Application Isolation: The Application's data is isolated from other applications on your device in accordance with the operating system's application sandboxing policies.

Limitations of Security Measures

While we employ reasonable safeguards, no system can guarantee absolute security. Factors beyond our control—including device-level security configurations, third-party application interactions, device theft or loss, and operating system vulnerabilities—may affect the security of data stored on your device. We recommend that you maintain up-to-date operating system versions and employ device-level security features such as screen locks and device encryption.

Analytics Security

For the limited analytics data processed by Firebase Analytics (as described in Section 4), Google employs its own security measures in accordance with its published security practices. This data is transmitted over encrypted channels (HTTPS/TLS) and is not linked to personal identifiers.

7. Third-Party Services

The Application integrates with the following third-party services:

Firebase Analytics (Google LLC)

Firebase Analytics is used for anonymous, aggregated app usage analytics as described in Section 4. Firebase is a product of Google LLC. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase Analytics Data Policy for Google's data handling practices.

Operating System Services (Android / iOS)

The Application runs on the Android and iOS operating systems. Each platform has its own privacy policies and may collect or process data independently of the Application. We recommend reviewing the applicable platform's privacy policy:

We are not responsible for the data practices of these third-party services. Their collection and use of data are governed by their respective privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

8. Your Rights

As a user of PDF Save, you are entitled to certain rights with respect to your data. Given that the Application does not collect personal information or user files, many of these rights are inherently satisfied by the Application's architecture. Nevertheless, we affirm the following rights in accordance with applicable privacy laws:

1
Right of Access
You have the right to request information about the data that may be associated with your use of the Application. Given that PDF Save does not maintain personal data records, no personal data is held by us. You may contact us at ronik2599@gmail.com for confirmation.
2
Right to Deletion / Erasure
You have the right to request the deletion of any personal data that we may hold about you. Since PDF Save does not collect or store personal data, no deletion is necessary. Any local files generated by the Application can be deleted directly through your device's file manager.

Given the offline-first architecture of PDF Save, international data transfers are generally not applicable to the Application's core functionality. User files (images and generated PDFs) remain on the user's device at all times and are not transmitted to any server or cloud service.

However, to the extent that Firebase Analytics processes limited, anonymized analytics data, such data may be transferred across international borders as part of Google's global infrastructure. Google's international data transfer practices, including reliance on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs), and other legal mechanisms, are described in Google's data processing terms and privacy documentation.

For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to the GDPR, UK GDPR, and LGPD:

  • International transfers of analytics data are subject to Google's standard data transfer safeguards.
  • We have not and do not intend to enter into separate data processing agreements for analytics data that is processed entirely by Google.
  • Users seeking more information about Google's international data transfer practices should consult Google's Compliance Resources.
